Casa do Sal (Salt House) portrays the traditional way of producing sea salt, an activity with a long history in this village.
On the place you can view a film that illustrates the various stages of production and harvesting of traditional salt called “Safra”. vs. industrial production, In its inner courtyard there is an elaborate mural painting, by Abel Viegas, which can be discovered during a visit to this cultural facility.
Casa do Sal also has a space where you can purchase products from the traditional salt production of Castro Marim.
The visit to the space can be complemented with a visit to the "Salina do Félix" (from April to October, according to the weather conditions), recovered and revitalized under the same project, and in operation since 2008, scheduled in advance by phone or e-mail.
